Apple Watch Series 7 VS Galaxy Watch 4
Hello guys i have the apple watch series 7 and galaxy watch 4 both packed with a ton of
features tons of options camera controls fitness sleep tracking and all that
jazz so let's see which one is the best so did you know with the apple watch if
you clench your fist twice you can activate something called assistive touch you
basically use clenches and pinches to navigate the entire watch and it's
actually kind of amazing i'm not gonna lie the galaxy watch 4 doesn't have
anything close to this but they do still have some pretty cool gestures so if
you're busy getting a phone call all you do to answer it is lift your arm up and
down like this or if you're too busy to decline the call you just rotate your
wrist like this you do just need to turn these settings on so on the apple watch
it's under accessibility and Samsung watch it's under gestures hand gestures are
actually surprisingly useful and you'll find yourself using them a lot but
because you can control the entire watch with apple's assistive touch this one
goes to apple okay now check this out i can actually control both my phone's
cameras with my watches but there are some differences so as you can see both of
them do an amazing job at showing you what your phone's cameras are seeing and
luckily it's really easy on both the watches to activate this feature within the
menus you just find the camera control application and you're good to go with
the apple watch it's quite responsive and instantly shows you what the phone's
camera is seeing you can of course snap pics or use the crown to zoom in and out
of pictures then snap your shots if you click on those three little dots you
also get access to a whole bunch of other different settings with the galaxy
watch i would say it's not as responsive and does just lag ever so slightly but
nonetheless you can still snap a pic from your wrist and add a timer if you want
but there's really no way to zoom in or even access settings so again apple
takes this one just because it has a little more features even though both these
watches are super compact responding to messages is super easy thanks to their
cool keyboards so on the apple watch if you receive a message you can go ahead
open it up swipe down a bit and see the option for reply of course there are
some quick replies if you want but when you click on reply it opens up the
keyboard where you can type or even swipe your message and at the end of the day
it's pretty good Samsung's however is slightly different because when you
receive a message you can reply using the default keyboard which is kind of
terrible but luckily you can download gboard which is what this is and with
gboard you get haptics it's bigger and also much easier to write out messages so
Samsung takes this one because you just can't beat that gboard keyboard okay so
even though these are two very different smart watches they both have a lot of
the same features with both of them you can make nfc payments using apple pay on
the apple watch and Samsung pay on the galaxy watch in the control center both
these watches have the find my phone feature so you can instantly ping your
phone and find it they also have a nifty torch in case the lights go out and
they're actually quite bright then there are a bunch of different fitness
tracking exercises on both these watches that also track your heart rate and all
that jazz they also both have galleries that are linked to your phone so anytime
you take a new pick they will appear on your watch if you need to set an alarm
timer or use a stopwatch you can do that too and sleep tracking is on both these
watches so if you wear your watch to bed in the morning you'll have a bunch of
super interesting sleep metrics also don't forget both these watches also have
app stores where you can download a bunch of different apps on your watch so all
of that being said I'd have to say both these watches win this round now this is
where things get super interesting because on the galaxy watch you have a body
composition measurer so all you do is slide your watch up your wrist a bit add
your index and ring finger on these two buttons wait a couple of seconds and
almost instantly you have your body mass index I've also tried this against a
professional one and it's pretty accurate with the galaxy watch you also get
snow detection and this one kind of blew my mind within the sleep metrics on
your phone if you scroll down you'll see this option that says snoring and these
are all voice recordings of your snoring throughout the night how crazy but then
onto some of apple watch's unique features you can use your watch to unlock your
phone and also MacBook and the walkie-talkie app is an amazing feature you can
use to chat with anyone else who has an apple watch it doesn't matter where in
the world your friend is so long as their walkie talkie app is active you can
chat away through your watch well that's really epic but to weigh it up both
have very different unique useful features so again both win this one now onto
chatting about media if you receive a message with an image in it on the galaxy
watch you can actually see the image from your watch but not with apple the same
kind of applies to gifs so if you head into the gallery on both these watches
with apple you cannot see the gif appear but Samsung will actually play it
luckily you do get Spotify on both these watches and they're almost identical
very similar features and super easy to navigate you can literally control all
your music from your wrist but what if you wanted to watch videos on your watch
well with Samsung you can download an app called wear videos and what this
basically does is connects to your phone and then allows you to access any video
that's already on your phone and allows you to view it from your watch on your
wrist i mean this is so cool with apple watch on the other hand mind the pun you
have nothing like this and the only way you can actually view a video on your
watch is if someone sends it to you via imessage so because the galaxy watch 4
can handle more media and even play videos from your phone it definitely wins
this round okay now time to talk about straps and with the apple watch you can
very easily change straps just by clicking and holding down on that button on
the back then sliding them out it's just as easy to slide them back in they
click into place and it's literally that simple i honestly don't think it could
be any easier so changing up your watch strap with apple is a breeze Samsung
though is a little bit more difficult on the back you really need to get in
there and pull this little lever which I'm not gonna lie is kind of a mission
then shimmy out the strap it works a lot like traditional watches where it's
definitely not as easy as pushing down a button but i mean at least there is
still the option to switch things up so it's awesome that you can change the
straps on both these watches but apple wins simply because it is so much easier
to change okay so both these bad boys have voice assistant which is rare enough
d with the apple watch you just click and hold down on the crown then siri
activates and you can ask her anything like how to spell subscribe and 90 of the
time she's actually quite helpful the apple watch also has this really cool
feature where if you just lift your wrist and say something siri will
automatically listen and respond the galaxy watch works much the same ways if
you click and hold down on that button it'll activate bixby and from there you
can ask her whatever it is you want as you can see it's definitely not as
helpful as siri that's for sure but Samsung have said that google assistant will
be available on the watches soon however because it's not this one has to go to
apple chatting about the battery and each of these watches have over 300
milliamp hours but galaxy does just have a bit more juice what's really cool is
both these watches have a power saving mode which is really really quick to
toggle on both of them also have wireless charging and also charge at a fairly
fast speed which is super nifty but when i've tested these watches and compared
the battery life they are basically the same so both these watches win this
round so to round it up the apple watch series 7 is better than the galaxy watch
4. that being said the apple watch series 7 is just the best choice for iphone
users and the galaxy watch 4 is just the best choice for Samsung users either
way both these watches are seriously amazing.
